Part 2 Weight Management

Did you know that 65% of Americans are overweight or obese and that 300,000 deaths result from obesity each year? Those are some pretty sobering statistics. We as a country need to work together to bring those numbers down and increase the health of the nation.

First thing in weight management that we need to do is break the dieting cycle. Although diets can work for some people the best way to loose weight and keep it off is to change your lifestyle. You have to commit to making a real change in your life otherwise statistics show you will end up right back where you started or possible worse off.

Some Key Points:

  • Muscle = Metabolism
  • Muscle weighs more then fat, so don’t just rely on the scale
  • Cut Calories and fat
  • Add an exercise routine
  • Join a group for support
  • Start small
  • Keep a journal

Changing your life can sound like a daunting task, but just remember to start small and work your way through. Even little changes are a start to taking off the weight and increasing your health.
